Help listing as a commuter

Fedex guy here. Trying to make a listing on myidtravel.com to jumpseat on Alaska. After I input the flight leg I’m trying to get on, it says that there are “no selectable flights”. Anyone know what the issue is?

Our gate agents are usually good at just listing you there. Wouldn’t be surprised if our fifth-best IT has dropped the ball on the website-listing.

Jumpseaters don’t have any way of listing in advance online. If you want to JS on Alaska, list at the gate.

OAL AS jumpseating procedures are literally the exact same as Delta or United. There is no way for an online OAL pilot jumpseat listing.

Got it, thanks!

Alaska pilots have no way to list for a jump seat either. First come first serve. Seniority does not apply. Alaska pilots, I think then Horizon pilots and then everyone else. CASS required and if you are given a seat in the back you are no longer a jump seater but you are traveling as a non rev courtesy of Alaska Airlines and are listed as such. Pilots/FA’s will have no indication otherwise. No need to wait to board or check in up front.

Isn't there a way for Delta or American pilots to list in advance (schedule) a jump seat? This would be a great tool for commuters amiright? of course the Captain can say no I guess......

No one at AS as an employee or an OAL can list for an AS jumpseat online. Same as how no OAL pilot can list online for a Delta or United jumpseat.

I always check in with the flight deck to “request” a ride, even if given a seat in the back. Jump seat etiquette 101.

True if you are jump seating. If you are sitting in the back on Alaska Airlines and have a boarding pass with a seat number you are not a jump seater and it is not the captains discretion.

What process are you talking about? ZED tickets and buddy pass holders? Sure. But if a pilot listed for a jumpseat, got processed through JACS to prove they are CASS, and in the end get a cabin seat with a boarding pass, ALPA jumpseat guide says still a good idea to check in with the CA and "ask" for a ride. With that said,

"NOTE: Flight Deck jumpseat riders who have been given a cabin seat assignment need not check in with the Captain. This policy reduces Flight Deck distractions and congestion."

Just because they don't need to check in doesn't mean you no longer have authority over their access as a CA. The policy is to reduce distractions and congestion, but you as CA can refuse someone who used flight deck jumpseat procedures to list for the flight (even if cleared in the back cabin).
