Spirit and Frontier… just the beginning

And it’s off to the races…

Someone needs to change their name to Ala7ka.

next is Delta Blue
Then American Alaska
followed by United who cares.

One can only hope. I don’t know if we’re so fortunate as to get rid of this management group.

How about AS buys sunny, forcing arbitration?

From a business point of view, if AS is feeling any pressure to merge (or aquire anyone), then it would be for continued growth, profitability and to remain competitive, right?

Would merging with Allegiant with only 400 or so pilots, or Hawaiian with their 800, or even Allegiant with their 1000, make sense?

With the consolidation that's taking place, I think you either have to go big, or go home. It seems like JetBlue with their 4000 pilots, and a complementary network, would be the best way to go.

I think they know it, but their pride (probably having to get rid of the by far less recognizable "Alaska" brand), as well as their admitted fanaticism toward the 737 (and their apparent disdain for the 320), would be the fly in the ointment that stops these two from doing the tango.
