SFO Issues 4/21
 

Hey guys,
Just curious what was going on last night in SFO? Both pilots and ATC kept mentioning “issues” with your company and parking north of the 28’s for an hour plus.

I heard a bunch of rampers walked off the job.

That’s what the FO and I figured but was curious.

We sat for over a hour waiting for a gate. #2 in line and got bumped to #3 so SkyWest could park…told they had connecting pax. Yes only one crew to park,unload,and deliver bags. Agent told us one of the two crew walked off the job. Rumor has it United is picking em’ up with a nice signing bonus. Ben has a **** load to get right.

They just really want to be able to take care of ramp workers and reward them for their contribution while maintaining the business model.

That's what United did in DEN to our (SWA) rampers...offered them fat signing bonuses and a bunch took it.

Cant believe they’d just up and walk away from the culture, route network and West Coast opportunity we provide.

What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Some men, you just can't reach.

So you get what we had here last week -- which is the way he wants it.

Well, he gets it.

And I don't like it anymore than you men.

You pilots gonna get used to wearin' them chains after awhile. Don't you never stop listenin' to them clinking, cause they gonna remind you of what I've been saying -- for your own good.

Pilots: I wish you'd stop being so good to me, Cap'm.

fat bonuses is 10k after completing one year of service. Pretty ingenious. Not only got their ramp shortage issues cover, also disrupted a major competitor in DEN.
