Airbus

Anyone notice that there are 98 estimated lines on the system bid for March LAX Airbus? Can someone explain the math on how 10 321s can produce 98 lines?

THE SHAFT 10-19-2022 12:27 PM

Maybe they will be ultra efficient with the frames.

18 hours flying a day x 30 days x 10 frames = 5,400 block hours. Divide that by 75 (min guarantee) you get 72 hard lines. Add in the fluff of vacation and training and maybe that’s how they arrived at those estimated bid blocks. Wish I was still on it I would park myself on reserve and not work.

Sounds like a reasonable chance we just might be placing an order for 20 more 321’s 😉

I think an order for 20 + 30 options would make sense. That, plus the existing 10, would replace the planned 60 MAX 10s that may never show up.

Cheers - Rob.

The ones we are interested in have a pretty girl painted on the tail

Works for me. Anything that keeps and adds 321NEOs.

Cheers - Rob.

P.S. I think Hawaiian has 18 (w/ Pratt engines).

United has a pretty girl on the tail? Why would anyone be interested when Southwest is buying AS. Is the 321 order part of the the AA merger? Or was it the JetBlue acquisition you said was happening? Help us out with the future!

For the Oct 1 bid, estimate lines for LAX 737 CA was 152.

Actual? 118.

First time this year I ended up back on reserve. I take those estimate lines of flying with a fairly decent grain of salt.

128+ 17 OF = 145 Planned Nov 1st 2022= 146 🤷‍♂️

LAX 320 lines will likely be 80- 85 lines + 5-7 OF lines

Correct, and the Nov bid award estimated 146 bid blocks and actual was 128 lines + 17 OF = 145 so the reality for November was pretty accurate.

What are you saying? That otz can win the tour de france backwards?

i always math out est lines -15 to 20% and that tends to about the real number of lines, would love to be wrong and one day they have the amount of lines they project that far out. Always about 15-20% less

SEA November 1st estimated number of lines = 441
actual Nov 1st numbers 416+ 64= 480 lines

Yes, you are right, always 15 to 20% less… always 🙄

I can’t keep up with these rumors. First Southwest, followed by AA, then United, and now Hawaiian! Can someone just put Alaska out of its misery. Or OTZ, can you just be right for once!

Flaps1check 10-20-2022 05:33 AM

Correction sent on the PWP under flight crew admin. LAX 320 estimated lines should be 65 not 98.

Oh darn, there goes our controversy! It was just a typo.

Exciting times OTZ. How does BM and the gang feel about AMZ owning 15% of HAL? Are they okay sharing ownership with Uncle Jeff?

Swing and a miss.

I don’t think he has the slightest of clue when it comes to this stuff. Just whatever kinda sticks, he throws it out there.

I never thought he did. It’s just fun to prod his incessant cloudy crystal ball.

Airbus is sold out and won’t even touch the price that Boeing can offer on the MAX. Plus plenty of MAX available more quickly.

I could tell you guys how big the price difference is but nobody would actually believe me. Re-launch customer gets an extra special discount.

ShyGuy 10-26-2022 02:13 PM

NP said when Airbus gave him the price, he had to ask if that was for one plane or two.

All Bizniz 10-26-2022 06:56 PM

Back in the day, it was Airbus who was giving their planes away. How things have changed.
