Reduction bid

ANC -12
SEA -5
PDX -5

SFO +22

For those affected, how do you guys plan on bidding?

SFO/LAX for a good line

Or slum it on on reserve in sea for a crappy line/reserve?

Im wondering the same. Ill be right on the cusp of being able to stay in sea. My dillema is the do i just make the jump to SFO for a decent line or be bottom 5 in SEA. Presumably all five PDX guys will move to seattle. And 2/3 of the ANC refugees. Im leaning towards biting the bullet and going to SFO and letting one of those seattle guys who lives in base stay. I currently have any easy commute to reserve in SEA, vs. a one leg albeit much less frequent commute to SFO for a line.

Every pilot who takes the open SFO FO vacancy saves, most likely, multiple downstream displacements.

Generally, the ANC fo is senior to the SEA fo, who is senior to an LAX fo, who will end up in SFO. 1 reduction, multiple displacements. Same for PDX.

Wish we had some sight on what a balanced SFO will look like trip wise.

It will look like LAX pilots not starting or ending trips with SFO DHDs.

Oh I fully undertstand the concept just trying to figure out whats best for me. I could probly hold my current spot. But would I be better off voluntarily making the move to SFO and in the process saving someone elses spot...

If you're commute is easier in SEA then that is pretty valuable. This will probably be the last bid for a while. Not sure what your seniority would be in SFO, but you'll get used pretty good in Seattle as I'm sure you know. There aren't many commutable trips in SFO if you're in the bottom third, and then you could get a commute on one side of the trip but not the other when below half. You also get to look forward to Kim micromanaging you and getting disappointed when you call in sick because you really should have made better decisions so you didn't need to call in, and why aren't you able to help the operation and be a team player.

Id be right around the 50% mark in SFO and have been looking at the lines so could expext approx half commutable trips. And one of the bottom few reserves in SEA, summer reserve flying is rough! Leaning towards going to SFO for the line. If i never have to do an all night ANC turn again it would be too soon. Still curious what the other refugees are gonna do. Go for the line in SFO or if most will bump guys out of seattle...

The two leg commute from ANC to SFO sucks, my guess is most ANC pilots getting bumped will go to SEA, same with PDX pilots.

It's unfortunatly just going to be the bottom 22 SEA guys that are going to SFO. The other bases being senior. Maybe a captain chooses to downgrade and some guy gets lucky and takes the SEA captain spot.
