The airline pilot central page for Alaska has a link to this event: http://fapa.aero/pilot_job_fair.asp?conf=SEA17

Seems worth going to?

Jesus guys calm down. We were just talking about this. I thought common etiquette on a board was to at least read a few pages.

He made it sound like someone sold his house to get ready for training April and found out there was no class. I have been posting trying to give people information because if you haven't noticed... not a lot comes out.

And I was joking when I said last month, we were talking about this this month.

What we know for sure.
1. There will be training classes in July and maybe earlier.
2. They do want to hire more this year than they did last year.
More if you don't know how to look back in a thread.

Would you like me to repost the entire discussion?

Ok, thanks! Last I heard is that's still sitting around 4yrs? I just worry about getting stuck commuting to a VX base for 4yrs

No worries on that front, who knows if AS will open a co base one day...? It could happen? Assuming you live in a AS base SFO and LAX are highly commutable on both carriers. If you get JFK I'm sure you'll be able to base trade out of it within 18 months. Take the first offer, get that seniority number, all will sort itself out later.

The ISL will not take 4 years. No one knows any details on fences, bases, etc. I wouldnt worry about these things as the are relatively short term issues. Unless ypu cannot commute I would recommend getting a seniority number in the quickest manner.

Wynncore / Bugaboo, thanks a lot for that advice I appreciate it! There is one AS base which makes for a pretty terrible commute to SFO/LAX though, trust me, I know . But I hear you loud and clear about getting on the list and riding out the waves of change. Thanks again!!

I would hope and expect that anyone hired at either company after December 14, 2016 would be integrated as DOH.
