It’s great you’re successful. No one said you weren’t.

You are here disrespecting and discrediting our Union by saying they are withholding information from us.

Your predictions about the fleet have also frankly been awful. There are 15% less mainline airplanes than there were in 2019.

So Gold, silver, lead whatever. All incorrect.

It’s very telling that you admit that the company restricts flexibility, has control issues, and that we as pilots have to work together “to take back” our quality of life that our peers in the industry just enjoy without all of the headache and nonsense we have to go through here.

Once again you are the exact type of person the company loves and part of the reason this garbage contract has survived and prospered for so long. You are a shining example of why this company has faced zero pushback about sub par contracts and why we are where we are today..

That is a strawman argument… uhm no. I have voted no both times given the chance to vote on a contract. Then after being given that turd, I learn to skillfully take advantage of it. Whatever angles I can find, I wring out the best quality of life possible.Really, somehow in your world, that makes me the problem 🤔really?

Please do tell what I am and was supposed to do?

With the forecast hiring though, I would think it should be easy to get Anchorage either from class or on the first bid after that. ANC pilots do lower 48 flying, although they also have lines that stay in Alaska, and they do Hawaii flying as well.

Until Horizon replaces all inter Alaska flying. SCOPE NOW!

Realistically, 8-18 months for ANC and PDX. Maybe sooner, but that would be my best guess.

The boogieman isn’t real, but QX will likely continue to grow up there. The base will likely stay about its current size over the next 3 years. At that point, ANC likely becomes the most senior AS base… pretty crazy, it was the junior base most of my career

The most JR FO in ANC was hired in January 2019. If the base continues to stagnate you’ll never get in. I don’t see people leaving ANC. QX is slowly flying most of the ANC base routes. So I doubt this base will grow. You can do the math…

ANC pilots do fly to Hawaii.

If you DM me I’ll send you a bid packet so you can see the lines.

When you write “never get in,” that must be dramatic, theatrical, and known to be absolutely false. Anchorage pilots will move, retire, upgrade in and out of base, and some FO’s will leave for FE and UP. That will provide many FO positions in the future. The ANC base is likely to grow 9% over the next 3 years. Not a lot but that would likely provide at least 30-50 positions during that period of time. Reserve in ANC goes out of seniority, as it is much more palatable then the other bases.
So yes, a new hire would likely hold ANC in 8-18 months, as for “never” being able to hold ANC, well that is just purely a false statement, written to discourage and detour applicants. He wants you to know, he is very unhappy here, and if he is really unhappy, well without question, so will you.

So how much does a week of summer vacation cost? Asking for a friend.
If all the senior guys didn't bid the summer vacation slots to sell to junior pilots there might be some left for the rest of us.

Really, do you think that is how it goes? Not a dime, straight trades, a couple of guys wouldn’t trade, I found three willing to help. It wasn’t hard, we have some great guys here, even amongst the evil senior ones😉. Most know and understand the game, some well, let’s just say they are special. I have found, you get back what you put out in life!

You missed the context of “continues to stagnate”. The ANC base just got 64 and 65 but they didn’t need to add pilots. This is for a base with only 89 FOs. There are 462 FOs in SEA. It’s not out of this world to see all SE flying go to QX…

Nearly all of the FAI flying went to QX. One could wait far, far longer than 18 months to see ANC.

This will be the scenario most applicants should consider if they intend on not commuting to ANC.
