Bose headset

Where does Alaska get the Bose headsets they're using? The A20 I have is a little clunky. I like the looks of the ones I've seen when jump seating on Alaska but can't find them online.

The QC-15 has been discontinued but many CostCo's still have them.

So you're using QC-15's with add on mics?

It's almost 50-50 with UFlyMike and A20. There are a few Senheisers and Telexes, but it's mostly a Bose of some sort.

We get a discount from Bose on the A20. Price is somewhere around $975. I think UFlyMike is changing their product.

Thankfully the last pilot I knew who used an earspike retired earlier this year.

This headset works with the QC15 and the new QC25.

I used the qc-15's with the u-fly mic for a number of years. They work great but the current model has some reliability issues and I ended up in a pattern of sending the mics back every 2-3 years or so. The service is great from the company so sending them back isn't that big a deal but you always end up with this period before you send them back where things don't work quite right. Some FO's also find the left side only arrangement of the mic to be annoying. U-fly mic has an option for an extra long mic boom...I would definetly get that.

Now I use A-20's and although they aren't quite as comfortable as the QC-15 setup, the noise cancellation is FAR superior.

Having used both, i drive to work and usually do trans-cons & West coast-Hawaii I much prefer the A-20s for durability and noise reduction. If I were commuting still, I would go for the QC-15/ufly setup so that I would have one headset for riding in the front or the back.
