Current Allegiant Jumpseat Procedure?

I'm on vacation traveling between friends and family. Noticed a direct Allegiant flight (I guess non-daily?) between my current and next destination which would save me at least two hours connecting tomorrow (Sunday, March 12th).

Wanted to verify the current procedures for jumpseating on Allegiant, if someone can assist? I did a thread search and found an Allegiant jumpseat thread that is close to 4 years old. Also checked the "Jumpseat Guide" on the ALPA App, but it's out of date (only mentions MD80s not Airbus) and doesn't mention any specific procedures. Only shows the Allegiant website and a phone number. Did go to the website and do a "fake" ticket purchase to see if I can find a seat map and the flight looks like it has seats available, most of them in aft most economy.

Do I need to list online or just show up at the gate? Have a smaller carry-on and a computer case/bag with me. Any issues getting on with my luggage?

Appreciate any help that someone can provide.

Just show up at the gate -- I recommend 45-60 minutes prior. Depending on the station, the agents will likely be the same ones at the ticket counter that are at the gate. If its one of these stations, you should be able to "list" and/or get the forms at the ticket counter. This would be recommended because nobody will be at the gate until boarding begins. Make sure you hang out so that the crew sees you on the turn if you have ANY issues with the gate agents. We have some agents that don't understand how to do jumpseat listings, etc. All you need is the "jumpseat form" and they are supposed to do the CASS checks. If there are CASS issues you still can take a seat in the back with CA approval. PM if you want station specifics and loads.

Be advised the cutoff time for listing at the gate could be as much as 20-25 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. Don't be late!

Flag the crew down if you see them. There have been problems with some agents. Message me the day and flt and ill check loads for you.

Hey guys any changes to this?
I got left behind at an out station trying to get to work a few days ago.
Agent claimed they have a new system and did not know how to process a Jumpseater. I asked to fill out a paper form and she said they didn’t have any.
I asked to speak with the captain and she told me I’m not allowed to do that. (Obviously clueless)
It was a very frustrating experience and the flight left with over 50 empty seats.
The captain and FO never came out as I did stick around hoping they would.
Great crews and never had trouble in las, just a clueless agent this time. I’d like to figure this out as I just switched to an Las base and G4 is a great option for me.

I'm surprised to hear this happened in LAS. There have been no changes in listing or processing JS. They have to have paper forms as that is what G4 uses, on top of LAS being a hub. We do have a lot of flights seek to leave early, but to go more than 10 minutes they have to have dx okay. I also make sure to tell them to insure they have all non revs and JS on before closing up.

Sorry this happened to you.

Please contact your Jumpseat committee so they contact ours and ensure this never happens again....very embarrassing. Sorry that happened to you!

Actually there are no paper forms anymore unless the pilot is occupying an actual jumpseat.

labbats 02-20-2018 07:19 AM

All of the Jumpseat issues I’ve heard about could have been avoided by the Captain walking up and asking if there were any jumpseaters.

I now go up to the gate at every outstation and ask.

Odd that this happened in Vegas as it’s our hub and I wouldn’t think a jumpseat would have been an issue there. I agree this needs to be addressed via your jumpseat committee to ours. They do a good job and will make it right.

Just a suggestion, always go a little early and check in at gate A15 regardless of departure gate. That’s kind of the “main gate” in LAS. Last time I was told to check in there because the actual gate had no jump seat forms. Also, that’s usually where supervisors hang out so if there’s a problem, help is close by. As said before, talk to your jump seat coordinator but that’s my “cheat” in LAS. For that matter, see if they’ll give you an extra form and make copies for outstations. The form they gave me last time was just a piece of paper, no carbons.
