Application hold
Just got an email saying my application is “on hold for future new hire classes”. Anyone have any insight into future hiring? I take that to mean hiring is on hold for the moment and may resume next year?
Also, how likely is a new hire to get LAX, LAS, IWA, or OAK?

Also announced today that LAS MD80 will be transitioned to AB next Spring instead of 2019, which will also swamp the training department. Especially if there are displacements.

Someone involved in hiring told me that we are stopping hiring for now because the training department is swamped. Most likely will ramp up again late Spring 2018.

17 new hires starting Monday doesn’t sound like hiring is being stopped.

Obviously you can do whatever you guys want on here but it would be much easier for everyone to follow if you limited your ****ing matched to 1 thread per subject. Between trivial arguments about hiring rumors and the use of the term "drop" on multiple threads seems cumbersome and boring.
On to something more interesting, I heard airbus training was very difficult and all the old 80 guys in LAS were just going to retire early instead of having to make the difficult transition.

The training is the training and on par with what I got on the 80 in the GJ/SG era. Having said that, you'll get out of it what you put into it.
