Not easily commutable. Lots of old farts--everywhere. Not much to offer younger families. Very expensive in the surrounding areas (Ft Myers, Venice, Sarasota).

Hit the nail on the head. Great if you like a quieter style of living, Punta Gorda is very cheap to live and not bad for a family that doesn't want to deal with the "chaotic" bigger city life.

Punta Gorda is expected to grow too so that should motivate ya a bit.
But yeah probably the toughest to commute out of.

Why hard to commute?
It’s right between Sarasota and Fort Myers.

It's been said but I'll say it again. Don't come to allegiant and plan to commute long term. VBD is going away, and the schedules don't work for commuters. The worst pilots to fly with are commuters. Frontier and Spirit are hiring anyone and they are infinitely better to commute to, go there.

Well many are mentioning in the sense of convenience. Having to drive 1 hour or 30+ minutes to try and make a flight that’s probably going to be a two leg commute isn’t optimal.

One word: GATORS

Isn’t Punta Gorda located in Hazzard County?

That's BS. VBD will get smaller, but it will be around in the future to accommodate seasonal shifts in flying. It's already been shown that constant involuntary TDY isn't productive.

And many of our pilots choose to commute. I've never had any problem flying with any of them. What they do on their own time is up to them.

Choose Sprit or Frontier over Allegiant because of commutability? I can't even take you seriously after reading that.
