Couple Allegiant questions
What are the chances of the company going away from the home every night concept? I talked to a guy probably a year ago who said there was talk of starting to do overnights to be able to have more efficiency. Being home every night would be a huge QOL item and even be worth losing some pay but would suck to make the jump and that go away. I’d be a happy guy in PIT on the Bus.
Are the 2-3 year upgrades gone for the folks coming through the door now?
Are they still holding MD classes with it going away? I have a bus type buy my last four are way high so I’d probably be last in my class to pick.
Thanks

As we transition to all Airbus and depending what direction the company is gonna go with some of the bases and trips we might see 2 day trips. But for now and the foreseeable future I think day trips will still be “our thing”
Upgrades have slowed down Bc everything has slowed down in the company since the main focus right now is transitioning the whole fleet.
I think personally upgrade will remain at 3 to 4 year mark unless we see some considerable growth or the young bucks here finally get hired at elsewhere.
Most of the junior captains, the ones that saw the year upgrade are what I consider fairly “non competitive”. Many pilots elsewhere have much more PIC and overall experience. But it’s the luck of the draw too I suppose.
The younger crowd here has their sights on the legacies. Once they go upgrades here will go back to 1 to 2 years.
No more MD80 classes

Never say never, but I don’t see any future new hires going to the MD80.
You will find a bunch of differing opinions, but I can’t see upgrade being much less than 4-5 years for future new hires. If you want to upgrade in a specific base it could take even longer.
We will have an increasing number of overnights, but I don’t see them being a significant portion of the schedule anytime soon.
