Base Seniority

I have some questions:
How many bases has allegiant closed in the past 10 years?
How are you compensated for your base closing?
How do you avoid the infamous tdy?
What are the obligations that the contract requires of the company involving tdy? Do they pay for a hotel?
Thanks

Reno, Laughlin and Tunica all closed due to Harrah’s Casino charters being bid out. That won’t happen again since we don’t do that type of flying.
So you have LAX which reopened a couple years later and is still open. Oakland which just closed and Grand Rapids which closed years ago and now reopened.
Can’t say much on how to avoid TDY other than get in front of this current hiring wave or move to a base where you have seniority. Many times the bottom three or four get forced out but there will be 8 TDY. The rest go to more senior pilots bidding it for a month
All TDY gets $2/hr per diem for the month. Untaxed it adds up particularly on first year pay. All get hotel and some get hotel and rental car. Seems the good hotels don’t get rental cars... only the ones too far away for a shuttle.
