I guess everyone’s experience varies. I’m a new hire and live in FLL. Was very fortunate to get FLL on the first bid
and am now on reserve. I’m 10 minutes from the airport and this has literally been the best QOL Ive ever had. My
time here thus far has been pretty good with every company employee treating my with nothing but respect and professionalism.
i know I’m new here and you guys have seen things I have yet to learn but I can’t agree with some of those opinions. I know the
contract is coming up and I know what this group deserves but my experience has been great. Maybe I’m still jaded from my last shop
with the mentality of, they beat me cause they love me. Take it or leave it.

Glad you're here! As someone who's gotten hosed a few times over the last few years here and had my fair share of low times I can still tell you my QOL as a whole is significantly better than where I was (and most have been). Enjoy it, fight for what's ours and spend some good time with the family.

This is my experience as well. I am junior in a big west coast base, so I am fairly insulated from the crap that is central FL reserve. I have had a handful of absolute crap reserve callouts that resulted in forced overnights, but that is certainly not the norm. I have learned the hard way from those garbage callouts that strategic use of gold days and trip pickups can make my QOL significantly better on reserve.

No, you do not want to go to any regional over working here. Although technically everything he said has some basis in truth, it is a grand exaggeration that all of that will happen to you, much less that it will all happen to you on a regular basis.

Is this place perfect? Nope! Is it a pretty solid place to work, yes. IF(!) being home is your driving factor. We have a lot of holes to fill on our next CBA, but you'll most likely enjoy the ride while waiting for it to come along. Just be realistic about your expectations.

This has been, by far, the best place I have worked. You'll enjoy it, just don't come in thinking it will be all rainbows and unicorns.
