Read Sqwkvfrs 2nd paragraph. That should tell you a lot. A whole hell of a lot.

To me it’s pretty incredible to have come to Allegiant from a regional airline. I can count on one hand the number of major BS type situations in 4 years at my regional. It ran very well and I had almost zero issues there. Granted it was one with a good rep and not a bottom feeder like Mesa or GJ, but still. It was a regional.

I come to Allegiant, a “major” airline and not some contract carrier, and you deal with an immense amount of crap. It’s incredible.

It’s supposed to be the other way around...

I flew with good people at AAY and still have friends there, but they can absolutely be their own worst enemy in what kind of management BS and disrespect they deal with because “home every night” syndrome. It’s kind of sad.

To each their own.

Gentlemen, thank you so much for all the replies and insight. Definitely helps give me a better picture of what I'm getting myself into.

How does per diem work at G4? Do they pay per hour away from domicile or only when you're doing TDY?

Per diem is the same as any other carrier. Taxable TAFB on day trips. Overnights and TDY are paid TAFB and non-taxable.

Year 12 Capt, end of contract, Frontier is 270 / hour + 15% of your gross pay (DC) in your 401k. Year 4 FO my month is 18 days off with 116 credit. Anything over 82 hours credit pays 125% I’ll let you run the numbers. With respect but those two going to Allegiant where either pre contract or poolies sick and tired doing laps. I can’t think of one person (after the contract) who wants to leave. That being said, once comparing 6 figure jobs always always always choose your family, QOL and happiness first.

Congratulations and good luck !

Edit: Ps I think both in a good and bad economy both Allegiant and Frontier would be a good place to be. Again congratulations with your offers !

We had that honeymoon period too at G4 too. No one was going anywhere... NK got a contract... B6 got a contract... F9 got a contract... magically, we were bottom of the barrel.

Granted in a few years hopefully we’ll be top of the pile again when negotiations reopen, and I would say that DC 401k is inevitable and industry standard at this point.

It’s all a cycle, and for a few years G4 pilots made well more than the F9 guys. Each contract that gets negotiated and is better than ours is ultimately a benefit to the others in the long run.

Are any new hires finding their way into SFB?

Two of the new hires that started last week were awarded SFB. That leaves 10 vacancies at that base, not counting any that may open on next month's vacancy bid.
