Default Allegiant Schedule

Is it true that all trips are day trips? Also does that mean you start very early and end super late? Would like some insight into a normal daily schedule. Thanks.

Most trips are day trips. There are some overnight charters and some bases do a very limited number of single overnights.

Trips are typically am or pm. AMs start roughly between 05:00 and 7:00. PMs typically start between late morning and early afternoon and end between 9:00 pm and midnight. Many trips are an out and back, two leg day. Most of the remaining trips are 4 leg days that are either double out and backs are an inside turn in another station.

To piggyback on disaster... He pretty much hit the nail on the head for individuals that hold a line. If you're a line holder, even if your junior, quality of life is beyond better than any airline I have every worked for, not to mention corporate jobs I've held. I will say, being a junior reserve line hold in certain bases in our system, it sucks. Not because you fly a lot, but because you'll spend a lot of time in a damn Lyft or "limo" for 2+ hours to go complete a 10 to 16 hour day, only to ride back another two hours home; this happens way to often in my humble opinion. I've ridden in the back of a limo for 4+ hours only to get to my destination, then told to stand down, and ride 4+ hours back. This is "rare", but it does happen.

But if you're in some of the smaller, more "satellite" bases, you'll spend quite a bit of time at home. Of course this can also be a negative, if your goal is to make more money. This is a big deal on first year pay! So something to think about.

Regardless; I have been very happy and frankly after being home so much, the thought of hitting the road for days is no longer appealing. Now I get an overnight on a charter, and everyone is excited because its a chance to go hang and explore. At the end of the day, I think most everyone is happy here, and only gets disgruntled when they have to deal with BS due to bad planning or "abuses" from crew scheduling, or constant contract violations. But, if you're anything like me, you just ride it out, and make the best of a situation, stand your ground when it comes to dealing with fatigue sometimes. Good luck bud

In the Florida bases most turns are singles (out and back). If you're an AM'er you'll usually be home around 1pm or so. Before noon if it's a short turn.

How does the monthly schedule work out? Do you fly these day trips for 3-4 days and then have a few off or is it completely random?

You bid your schedule like any airline. Difference being we have 1 day trip pairings instead of multi day. I’m senior in a larger base and I typically work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thurs-Sun off.
