Hiring Pool Delays?

Just an update in case any other poolies read this occasionally. I recently received another job offer. When pondering the timeline, I called ZG in HR/Recruiting to see if there was any plan to still consider those hired into the pool in the event that training ever resumes in the coming months/years.
I received an auto reply email saying her mailbox was no longer monitored. I guess I got my answer.

'At least 18 months' is the exact verbiage used, but we don't really know anything more than that. The long-time head of pilot hiring retired as part of the early-out program so it's anyone's guess as to how it will all shake out.

I doubt the company has any idea what the plan is right now. They just recalled all the furloughees, but they plan to drag their training out mostly the entire year. There's also a question whether they will get furloughed again when the government cheese runs out on March 31. Also, most of the people you corresponded with in recruiting probably got laid off.
If you have other options, you should take them. Don't wait for this place to get their act together.
