Does anyone know if allegiant will, or maybe has in the past, cancel CJOs of poolies and start over if they don't hire into next year?

Also, what kind of passenger traffic would it take to restart hiring? I know they are threatening furloughs while shopping for airplanes so I have no idea what to expect or even look for in terms of getting out of the pool haha

Happy memorial day

Nobody could say for sure, but I don't see them cancelling a CJO. If they hired you, they want you to work here, and I don't see them changing their mind on that because a downturn came. It costs them nothing to run a pool indefinitely, so I see no reason they would flush it. I think Delta and United have done that in the past, but we aren't Delta or United.

I am not sure that Allegiant has even had poolies before this current hiring cycle, so who knows. However, I don’t know why they would flush the pool.

The most current investor call revealed plans to part out our oldest 10 airplanes and replace them with 10 from the used market that are already coming. This would result in a net of the same size fleet in the next 12 months. This obviously means that we are currently adequately staffed. In the event that the flying does not resume as quickly as G4 management believes that it will, we will park up to an additional 15 airplanes until the market returns. This obviously would mean that we are overstaffed in the short to intermediate term. Behind the scenes, Allegiant is hoping to capture significant market share from abandoned routes. This is obviously wishful thinking, but that is the one thing this management team is exceedingly good at.

IF additional market share is captured and the fleet is grown to accommodate that market, we will obviously need more pilots. No one has any idea which one of those three scenarios will play out at this point.

As a poolie I’m on the hunt for good news. I thought this article sounded good.
