Yesterday an email was sent out saying we may or may not have hit rock bottom in April, and things are improving, but they still need concessions, because we aren't making money, and there's no plan for when the CARES money runs out. The full flights are an illusion because they're all using vouchers. The only reason planes are flying is the CARES minimum flight requirements. Fuel prices rose 30% since last month when they were practically giving it away. The time has passed for a V shaped recovery. They are going to hold off on furlough and base closure announcements a few more weeks and let us stew on it. Disney and the Las Vegas strip reopen July 1 and the customers are reporting in the surveys that they are happy with us and plan to travel. Operating 75% of the normal schedule in July. Great revenue opportunity.
So basically just more gaslighting and cognitive dissonance.

No problem for the pilot group. Lying TraciTool and her lying management ways have not and will not sway or influence the pilot group. They over played their weak hand. Management is seething mad at the fact we aren’t going to cover their Sunseeker swamp losses. It’s not our fault hard core hotel guy made a stupid bet, that’s coming out of managements wallet not ours.

Now Allegiant management has said that furloughs are off the table and they are evaluating the fleet and base plan. Looks like the pilot group called their bluff and won. Also the BOD is now involved in day to day strategic planning which is odd. Investor revolt? Too much fake news?

As a data point, the poolies got another email from recruiting team essentially saying CJOs are still good for now, but no timeline has been established yet for training to begin.

lots of recurrent sim events were moved up to free up sim time later this summer as well as keep the schoolhouse busy. As a follow on to that I would expect to see a trickle of new hires to begin in August/September so that they can be online for thanksgiving/Xmas and an additional surge to complement our spring 2021 flying.

There are around 50 trainee pilots still waiting to complete IOE, take the oral, or somewhere between the two. Training is moving for some and others are still waiting the go ahead to resume.
That being said, overall, things are definitely looking positive!

BOD getting involved probably indicates they aren’t too happy about being sold on swamp hotels ($100mil - $200mil oops). And other stellar strategic decisions such as giving up etops to Hawaii not because it wasn’t profitable, but just because. The cares act money covers our payroll and nothing else. Our money management can’t use to line their pockets. Hence the full court press to trick us into concessions. FAIL. Their bonuses not so much this year ohh well.

Might be doing additional new hire classes again before the end of the year... Never know what can happen!
