In all seriousness....SFB, LAS, PIE, PGD, and IWA are locks to continue as domiciles. CVG has likely grown large enough to stay. Anything other than that is anybody’s guess.

I think out of those VPS has the highest survival rate. 5 + planes in the summer, place is growing like crazy, even in the winter easily enough flying for 2,3 planes, plus the new ramp that is already underway slated for completion in 2021. Also the rumor of sunseeker 2.0 in the area. But SAV on the other hand might be death.

Ehhh... Close SAV (was supposed to be seasonal, permanent too soon) and LAX (can be done with inside turns), VPS back to seasonal, maybe. May not open DSM or JQF, but then again, who knows? To be honest, SAV may be the only casualty when the dust settles. Loads are not tremendous and it was supposed to be seasonal initially. Maybe give it a couple of years to mature and reopen as a permanent base again.

VPS isn’t going anywhere. The company has already invested millions in the base and with expansion airport projects still going I highly doubt it will close anytime soon. We’ll probably see CVG double in size with time since Delta decided to pull the plug so quickly.
SAV I’d say is a sure closure at some point. With the way things are in California wouldn’t be surprised if LAX vaporizes too. Allentown is another possibility unless the state opens up quicker. ABE has always had pretty decent demand so who knows.
I’m sure the como company is going to try to find a way to preserve as much cash as possible, and any major displacement will be extremely costly. So I’m sure for the time being, they won’t close anything until they know for sure that it will cost them more to keep certain bases open.

It’s very short sided to discuss base closures at this time, Covid is a temporary crisis and for us to abandon our proven business model would be irresponsible. Things will get back to normal for the backward blue states in the next 6 months and we’ll swoop in and take a lot of the business. I think many bases like CVG will see growth for sure and we’ll possibly make some more assertive moves into major markets while the big guys struggle.

Well said. The speculation of base closures is fear mongering/ wishful thinking from stagnated bases.
