Allegiant does a deal....Allegiant style
Well we did a deal. We will still have 130 pilots furloughed. We will have 30 captains downgraded and possibly based turmoil but we did save some jobs.
best we could do.

Allegiant is the only mainline carrier that treats everyone like a bottom feeder regional. But hey you get to sleep in your own bed every night. Until you don't.
Yep, furlough mitigation Allegiant style. Our "unique business model". Thanks for your flexibility.

On one hand this deal was great if you were in the pool to be furloughed. On the other hand it was horrible because we are still leaving 130 of our brother and sisters out on the streets. I’d rather have continued to push for an agreement that kept all of our pilots employed but alas I am a lowly line pilot who isn’t in charge of business.

As somebody who has been critical of our EXCO leadership for not doing everything they could to save jobs and relying too much on a second CARES act (at least that was my perception), I say kudos to the EXCO. Saving 70 jobs is no joke (7% of our membership), those 70 FOs deserve it. As do the VBDs who will rightfully be able to exercise their seniority. And most importantly, this involved a VOLUNTARY leave program (I have never advocated for involuntary leaves, only voluntary ETOs like we had initially).
Do I still feel bad for the 130, of course I do. I hope we can bring them back soon. But given this management team, I think the EXCO absolutely fulfilled their legal and fiduciary obligations to their junior members and for that I say GREAT JOB. This is how truly unified labor organizations are built, by looking out for the junior FOs the same way you would for the senior CAs.
Kudos EXCO.

The fact that this management shill likes this deal speaks volumes about it.

Let's also mention the delayed bid timeline for the next year. What does that accomplish? Why do they want it so much? Why did we give it up? Now composite line holders can wait until 2 days before the end of the month to get this schedules for no particular reason. Outstanding.

And the amateur hour was because the EXCO and Scheduling Committee's fingerprints were all over the heat that was being thrown on pilots. You're naivety is astounding. 1224 got shellacked just a couple years ago for the same sort of nonsense and it completely neutered any leverage they had with Atlas. Why risk that when we know management hires the exact same attorneys as Atlas and knows how to exploit that type of amateurism by a Union to gain even more leverage. You want us to get slapped with an injunction while management is furloughing hundreds of pilots are you nuts? There is a reason that noise has been drowned out since the EXCO's communication. And to top it all off, its not even like our operation was putting pressure on management from an operational meltdown (a la NK in May 2018 when they were slapped with an injunction - they had 18% of flights cancel over a four day period...that will bring any management group to their knees). So yes, it was amateur hour for Union leadership to put their names on that.
