Circumstances are different for everyone. Go to a CP meet and greet when they start doing them and let the CPs tell you whether or not it’s a waste of time.

He’s talking about being below the minimums and applying anyhow.

Fwiw it’s definitely a good idea to apply before you meet the minimums. It’s job application 101. You won’t get hired, but when you do meet the minimums, you can say you’ve applied before, establish a history of wanting to be at that company, and have a talking point in the interview about having a strong desire to be at “company x” the whole time.

having multiple applications in is a good thing. The only time I would say not to is if you’re right on the verge of meeting the minimums, and the company is one that only allows you to apply once every 6 months or something.

I didn’t have the mins when I applied, got the interview, or when I got the job offer. I have a lot of rotary time from the military so that’s probably the difference.

A few of the airlines won’t let you apply without answering the question on their application “do you currently meet the minimums”. Answer that question honestly. If that question isn’t on the application, then hit submit.

I agree. I applied at the very low end with 2200TT and 500 TPIC, but by the time I was interviewing they asked me if I was still at that and I was able to provide 2500TT and 800TPIC. I’m just glad I applied the day the window opened in May

Wow, yep. 1k multi (piston or turbine) and 500 airplane PIC. Is it realistic for a flight instructor to have those quals with only 1500 TT assuming they instructed mostly in light twins?
