Allegiant question

Does Allegiant provide air travel to and from interview, and do you get a hotel and pay during training if offered a job?

CLMP 09-17-2013 08:29 AM

No travel, no hotel, and $2000/mo in training.

Well, it depends if you go to the 80 or the Airbus. The majority of the training will be in Miami if you go to the Airbus. When you are in Miami you will get a hotel.

Ok,thanks. I am flying charter now and looking for a change of pace. I live near SFB and need something that i don't have to move or commute to, wife has a good paying job down in Orlando.

any idea what one could get on a allegiant with? hours wise, with an internal rec from someone in the office?

pipercub 09-17-2013 01:54 PM

The last few classes have had pretty much every hour level, from about 4500TT to 15K+ as long as your over 3000 min you have a shot

Very true. In the history of the company, this current class is the first to be trained on anything other than the MD-80.

Do you not like my question mark usage at the end of a... Question?

Actually there are still a few on property that started on the DC9. I think the first MD80s didn't come until 2002.

I knew someone was going to catch that! Was too lazy to go back and edit. :)

I was saying more about Allegiant than your statement. Nothing personal.

Yup, our stellar mx department is on it. The party days are over. The FAA is going through G4 with a glove. Not sure about the CEO cashing out.

It's all public info so it will be on the SEC website if it's true.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see him leave. Given his age, and his disdain for employee relations, i.e. the unions, and now the FAA cometh. He’s great at starting companies, not so good at managing airlines.

eman 09-20-2013 10:03 AM

I don't see a link to apply on their page, no open pilot positions listed either, where can one apply?

I'm more terrified of the guy coming up behind him. You don't work for Lorenzo for several years and not pick up a few pointers. He cashed in almost $3 million in stock this week before all of these disruptions occurred. Probably just a coincidence.....

It is seeking alpha but it does state 30 planes are grounded.

Coincidence? Where I’m from, there’s an old saying by which we measure the validity of the word- coincidence. Once is happen stance. Twice is enemy action.

Hovernut 09-20-2013 01:55 PM

Yep, looks like the window has closed again. It appeared to have been open the past few weeks; I first saw it advertised on indeed.com. They had two interview sessions this week: Wed & today for an Oct 11 class. Those applicants appeared to have been pulled from a previous App window.

They just announced to us yesterday that there will be a class of 20 starting in mid-October. They are still relying heavily on internal recs but I suspect that may taper off. To all those looking to apply here, good luck but please do your homework.

It was CLMP, I was being coy. Passive-aggressive is my preferred form as well. Did someone say “Front Running”?;)

Allegiant Airlines takes 30 MD-80 aircraft out of service for emergency slide inspections - The Washington Post

"Allegiant serves about 100 mostly small cities and vacation destinations including Orlando, Fla., Las Vegas and the Phoenix area. It carried nearly 2.3 passengers to McCarran airport in 2012."
Looks commuter friendly :)

MD80driver2day 09-23-2013 07:00 AM

Let's not muddy the waters with facts.

The GMM (all you AAY folks have access to it) says all slides will be inspected every 3 years. The GMM, as all our manuals, are FAA approved.

Now the FAA is asking for a 1 year inspection on all slides due to the slide malfunction last week.

The company does a lot of things wrong every day, but this was not one of them.
