That is a completely ridiculous statement. There have been hundreds if not thousands of pilots in the last few decades that have been hired into "passenger carrying jets" with no problems what so ever. I personally was hired into a "passenger carrying jet" with less than 300hrs total fixed wing time.

It all depends on the individual. I routinely fly with guys with a shiny new Atp and 1500hrs that have no business in "passenger carrying jets".

I'm willing to bet the guy with 3000hrs of rotary time has more air sense and maturity than a 1500hr cfi.

That being said I have no idea what the requirement at Allegiant is.

Thanks for the input. Would you care to explain why I would have "no business in a passenger carrying jet" as a pilot with over 3000 total hours and all appropriate ratings (multi/comm/inst airplane)? But first, open your FAR book and look at the section that covers ATP add-on ratings. I don't see anything about a requirement for 3000 total fixed wing or anywhere near that amount to legally fly a passenger carrying jet.

very good if not within a couple months, I think most of the current new hire classes are slated for AB

Wow we have a TA and the thread blows up with new prospective pilots all of a sudden wanting to know about minimums and base assignments. I guess if this passes, we won't have a hiring problem. Management knew the minimum amount to pay us to fix their problems. That's unfortunate.

BLI is one of the hardest bases to get, especially for captain's. The reason for that is the decreasing value of the Canadian dollar vs the American dollar ever since the end of the recession. Fewer Canadians are flying to the USA for vacation than in previous years and the BLI base has shrunk significantly. You don't want to be junior at this company in a base that is shrinking. They will TDY you to other bases 10 months out of the year and you will spend the entire month in a hotel and never be home.

Just correcting the math in the most recent email about the TA? They stated that we voted in Teamsters in August 2012 and began negotiations December 2012. At the end of the email they stated we've been negotiating with the company for 4.5 years. I think they meant to say 3.5 years. We haven't even had a union for 4 years yet.

Profit sharing % is of course just half the equation. Earnings is the other half.
