Allegiant Air

Can anyone tell me how much hiring is going on?

What are the junior bases?

Can I expect to get Airbus right out of training?

:D

81 new hires from September to December, not sure how many have been hired of those 81. I heard the class starting on Monday are all 80 since the Airbus school is maxed out. Jr bases are historically Florida, although new hires have been seeing LAS and IWA pretty constantly.

Hope that helps.

I think J3Cub is messing with you.

Seemed like the other Allegiant thread got locked out. Just starting a new one...

No problem. I thought J3Cub was already here, but good info for potential new hires anyway.

Sounds like no movement with the contract. Hoping the cooling off period from the NMB comes soon.

Any guesses for the big announcement this week? I've heard MG stopped in a new hire class and said they were all going to be very happy to be on property next week. What management things is a good thing could be very different for the pilot group.

I've heard everything from a basic rebranding and uniform change to the speculation it's some kind of merger or acquisition of Frontier (that's the one that's running most rampant) and we rebrand as Frontier or something along those lines. I'm not sure what to think, but have been told that a couple of management types didn't exactly deny it when asked so take that for what it's worth, if anything.

Is it possible for a new hire to hold BLI out of training, or shortly thereafter??

For a few years recently the answer would have been "no way" but in fact 3 recent hires were awarded BLI. Now, with such a small base (10 crews) in such a desirable area it's hard to say whether this is a one-time window opening and closing or if you could get in relatively soon. Depends on whether somebody upgrades or decides to move.

Oh, and if you were hired onto the -80 you'd be equipment-locked out of BLI (Airbus base) for 2 years, at least the way things work right now.
