This folks is the problem with AAL pilots running a union. People like him need to go. If he has too much free time and no hobbies, he can put himself on the makeup list. Or maybe someone can hook him up with a girlfriend.

What is the diminished operational performance complaint about in the linked article?

Normally managements answer to improve performance is reduce work rules / QOL so the pilot group is more flexible, can cover more work when issues come up. But that's normally miserable for pilots in the end (look at regional QOL).

Can someone fill in the blanks here around APA's goals? They shot down profit sharing in initial JCBA (offered by company). There was then a big fight over giving pilots some token profit share (not even in contract). Now they want to push on management to improve ops performance of pilot group? What's the long term strategy here?

I'm shocked that a guy like you didn't join APA! I'm even more amazed that you have a problem with ALPA.

I'm LUS. I was around here when ALPA was WELL ENTRENCHED in this pilot group with politics being the fare of EACH DAY. ALPA, John Prater and the greed of LAW pilots wanting slotting is what stripped us of our LOS. Unions are the political BANE of society and soon the law will change that I won't have to pay a nickel in union dues. NOT ONE PENNY. Then we'll have employment at will. Norwegian is coming and others will join soon. Better be ready to compete because its coming.

But here is the principle: EVERY PILOT MERGED FROM SEPARATE AIRLINES GET THEIR LOS FOR PROMOTION AND DEMOTION. It was in EVERY UNION CONTRACT, then why doesn't this carry forward in mergers?

Its called GREED and I for one is joining the GREED wagon. You asked for it, you got it. Come on in, the waters fine!

Thread drift, so I'll address the original thread: Why didn't Parker go to Trump meeting? Does it matter? Parker and Isom are marching to their OWN beat and that is their decision. While I think one of them should of attended I also think that only time will tell whether they should have gone or not. But I believe that the success of companies is measured in their balance sheets and the airline to "Trump" in the world is American.

American doesn't have to run faster than Delta, United or SWA....they simply have to run faster than the "bear" called "the market".

Everyone enjoy your new found unity that Carey "on" promises.

Based on your previous two posts you should really think about moving on and doing something different. Your level of anger is disconcerting.

I have never understood of those that continue to describe their horrendous and diminished personal state why they continue to stick around.

Life is too short and there are so many other things to do in life. Go find a happy place. It's apparently not here.

It's one thing to want better, to be willing to fight for better, but wishing misery on us all is an entirely different matter.

My post was dripping with sarcasm. I know you're LUS.

I know you believe ALPA was the cause of the LUS/AWA merger debacle and that ALPA personally stole your pension, not the PIT LEC that gave it away to protect themselves. Enjoy working all year, since you most likely floated all your vacation. Also, enjoy picking up the straight time. Let me know when IMAX kicks in!

He's got a point. If the right to work legislation does pass how many guys will leave the APA. The numbers will be staggering at APA and UAL/DAL ALPA. Anyone within 5 or so years of ret need not pay, they won't be around for the next contract. Many hate the unions so much even if they have 20 yrs left they will leave. This will be bigger then NAI as the effect will be felt immedialty on the books of the union. Less money = less power.

Funny how you union wannabes spin messages you don't like as somehow portraying our opinions as "angry" or hateful. I like WORKING for American. I DONT like paying for greedy pilots that want for themselves at the expense of others. I hate GREED. But pilots here mostly see greed. I love my job, so you need to go look in a mirror and speak for yourself.
