AFP, you're much too kind. I would have gone this route.

I doubt PHL will go away, or international city pairs go away, as aircraft get retired. Old a/c get replaced by other a/c.
JFK has O/D traffic to fewer cities and PHL has more connections and destinations.

Plenty of rumors with nothing to back them up. For equipment and bases nothing is certain. Changes have been pretty minimal this past year and it's hard to expect anything drastic in the future. Certainly I would not plan my future around a small base and anything other than MIA and DFW could be subject to substantial change also. At least at AA platform would be the wrong word to use because nothing is that thought out and steady except for the very short term. You have to be very flexible or a career here is not for you IMO.

plat·form
ˈplatfôrm/
noun
1.
a raised level surface on which people or things can stand.
"there are viewing platforms where visitors may gape at the chasm"
2.
the declared policy of a political party or group.
Seems to me platform is ALWAYS the wrong word to use!!
