I left the Airbus for the S80 and I don't live in Mecca. Lots of varied flying, good seniority progression, haven't had an EDCT in months. Hot as hell in the summer though. That's the only downside I can see so far.
Pretty much every approach is hand flown with no autothrottles. Airbus I pretty much left everything hooked up until 500'. It was very rare to click the autothrottles off on that, could probably count on one hand how many guys did it over four years on it.
It was the last of the old school planes especially those AA airplanes. The TWA birds have VNAV which I use on climb and descent. Makes it Airbus-ish.
