Just be glad they don't use QFE anymore on the "jet".

This is perfect.
All right, we can spice things up a bit.
American is better than US Air, as are military pilots over civilian guys. Ramp should always be on #2, because that is how we always have done it. Boeing is better than Airbus, just like Ford is better than Chevy. The Coffee better be Starbucks, the beer, Goose Island IPA.
Oh and Go Trump. Annnnd Go!

Just curious, why all the head scratching about Ramp on radio 2? I believe all airlines use ground/tower on 1 and ramp/company on 2. Why all the fuss, there's got to be more to the story.
Also...what's with the ripping on the term "jet" or "aircraft" or "plane?" all 3 are interchangeable and I have heard it called those three names numerous times, none particularly more than the other.
Either it's a slow AA-bashing day or you guys are running out of material!

Asking for a buddy who is currently PHL 190 guy....
If he bids off the 190 for a 320 in September and is withheld, when does the seat lock begin? Is it when he is awarded and withheld on the 190 or the end of training for the 320?
Thanks

I posed the question of ramp on 2, ATC on 1 to my friends at United, Delta, and Skywest. Interestingly, they ALL do ramp on number 2, and ATC on number 1. In fact, the guy at Skywest said he did that at his two previous employers too - Horizon and Silver. So...United, Delta, American, Skywest, (and at least three other regionals, including Envoy) do it that way. Yet, somehow, what seems to be the industry standard way of doing this is somehow wrong and antiquated to US pilots because they never did it this way in their own operation and are resistant to adopt the industry norm "because we've always done it this way"
Pot. Meet kettle.
