Default Family files Lawsuit over aborted landing

Family suing AA for $100K over aborted landing on CLT-LAS flight:

https://www.charlotteobserver.com/ne...M4AP2w0b7Btaxg

Family on vacation claims their AA jet "ricocheted off the tarmac" and "careened back into the air" when attempting to land at LAS. Pax claimed they had seatbelts on but were still "hurled about the cabin" by the aircraft's violent movements. (So I suppose their seatbelts broke? )

So they wanted…what? To continue the landing?

This better careen back into the air and out of court. Ridiculous.

Interesting bit at the end. So, are the pilots being sued as well?

Hmmm.... interesting. They do know there were probably at least 100 other witnesses on the airplane?

I'm surprised they even got a lawyer to put their name on the lawsuit. I'm sure they're just hoping for a quick settlement.
Actually I shouldn't be surprised I guess. I sat on a civil jury in CLT many years ago, the case concerned a minor traffic accident where the defendants vehicle side swiped the plaintiff's car. Very shabby lawyer for the plaintiff and a Chiropractor on contingency fee. Total BS case but it drug on so long we had to come back the next morning to give our zero damages verdict. The Plaintiff was a retired postal worker from NJ and we did briefly consider awarding him a one way bus ticket back to NJ

Lawyers. A buddy is a regional HR director for a big restaurant chain. Lawyers put ads in the papers trying to get employees to make claims against the company, most of which are complete BS. However, it's cheaper for the company to just pay out $5-6k to make it go away than to get their legal team on it, just to fight it even initially. The lawyers know it so they keep trying it over and over.
