Well.....
Doesn’t matter much, I guess. It’s good some months and crap other months. The most random system I can imagine. More time won’t make any difference. There will be senior people working Christmas and junior ones who are off-it just the way our system works. Has nothing to do with the way we bid, it’s just not a system which honors seniority.
I wish APA had waited on PBS. It was a major degradation in QOL. We really needed to wait until some of the real garbage guys retired before jumping into that mess.
It is what it is, I guess. I’ve always preferred line bidding, and there are much better ways to do PBS.... But what did we expect-given our pathetic union?

The same thing happened last year. Those guys have every day of the month as coverage days, and since PBS has already put senior guys on the 3 popular coverage days (23,24,25), they get it off to work the other coverage days. I thought this was getting fixed...I guess not. They need to tweak the program for December and November.

These delays would be an easier pill to swallow if we weren't talking about a monthly schedule that starts in ~2 weeks.
If were talking about awards for Jan or even Feb, I have no problem with the delays.
We need to be bidding at least 2 months down the road at a minimum, not simply the next month.

This program needs more than a tweak. It should work properly 12 months a year.
I was mis-awarded in October. When I pointed the error out, I was given something worse. PBS here is a joke.

Yeah I was here for that $h!t show too. I counted a total of 20 guys that are jr to me that got some combination of the 24th or 25th, or BOTH off. That is one giant pill to have to swallow. There needs to be a bigger human input to go back in and fix it and realize that that is not right. The fact that the VERY BOTTOM guy gets off the 24th and 25th off proves what a flawed system it is.

Absolutely right. At 20% of my status and am working 22 through 25...went down to level 6 for me. Our PBS needs more levels to work otherwise the bidder has very little control over prioritizing trips. Supposedly its impossible to add more levels because our computers aren't powerful enough to handle more levels within a reasonable amount of time. Delta's machines don't seem to have that problem...imagine that!
