If you are cancelled or go illegal, you are pay protected for your trip but go into recovery obligation. This is where you can be assigned up to 0159 on the day after your original sequence footprint ended, or 30 hours after your original footprint if it was a transoceanic trip (not just international). You can decline RO and the associated pay if they try to give you a crap trip.

Delta people actually run the bids. The software is from NavBlue. The union QA's all bids and can force a rerun if seniority is not properly honored.

If it was possible to have a better system (aka DAL system), then we should of insisted on using it. Instead we had the APA PBS people defending our inferior program. When I asked why we only had 7 levels versus deltas umpteen levels the only response was that it would take too long to process bids. Well then bid a week or two earlier but apparently AA would have less flexibility in scheduling. We already gave them a much greater efficiency in manning so why is it that once again the burden falls upon us the pilots? IMO yet another victory for management when we should be working together for mutual benefit. Good luck in getting this or anything else changed any time soon.

Yes I agree, I was just correcting the notion that Delta IT had the capability/reliability in house to actually run the bids on Delta IT systems.
