Kirby going after scope at United
Looks like that United and UALPA have agreed to open full section 6 negotiations over a year early. Pilots are saying that Kirby is making the rounds talking about wanting scope relief and how this is "good for pilots." We have all heard this before from him! The United guys better stay strong!

Never forget when he did this http://blogs.star-telegram.com/.a/6a...7a35132970d-pi |
I'm guessing by the time it comes to a vote, 20% of the list at UAL will be guys who spent the lost decade in the cockpit of an RJ, and rest will still be feeling the sting of 20 years of lost opportunity and stagnate career progression. I haven't met anyone yet who wants to entertain scope relaxation.
Current UAL scope allows for additional RJs, btw. ;) |
United has already been hinting at a large 767-300 order, should Boeing reopen the line.
I vaguely remember hearing that here. More RJs means more widebodies for you! I mean, how could you not believe him? He's an Air Force Academy grad standing in front us with no tie on! |
United’s Union is one of the strongest unions I have ever seen and been apart of. Or MEC will not put out an offer that they know won’t pass. The membership is strong and United, it fractured a little with the SLI, but everyone is still more or less on the same page.
Kirby hasn’t dealt with this kind of union and unity yet. He’s in for a bit of a shock. |

If someone wanted pax 767's there is nothing stopping them from ordering them as long as they are -300ER's since the -400ER has components that are no longer in production. |
Kirby has no clue what he is in for...

One side note... after the JCBA was settled and 2/3s foolishly voted yes, a large number of the A319s on order were converted to the A321s. Why? Because we foolishly let the 321 into group 2 with as many seats as a B757. As soon as we passed the JCBA they converted the orders. Point being Kirby is a liar and will say anything to keep up the outsourcing scam. He probably wants to trash United with more RJs just like America West, US Air & AA. He's just another suit looking to make a little more money on the backs of organized labor, don't let him do it. |
