All I can say to this is...

MORE CHEDDAR!

I think I waffled on the AIP more than anyone, but some of the hyperbole on this was unbelievable.

Andy W’s point was the tipping point for me - we have the ability to test run ACD rigs and the DOTC/RAS process BEFORE section 6. We don’t have to spend negotiating capital on this!!!

Now we can focus on:
-Trip ownership to include abolishing the RO and make RA’s cost prohibitive
-PS and Pay improvements
-Better SK (260 hr/year and accrual to 1000 for STD) and LTD gains
-PR and Holiday Pay of 200%
-ACD of 6 hours with 3:1 rigs (depending on our test run)
-RESERVE at 5:15 day (why should LC and SC pay be different? Make LC at least 33% of all Reserve and award by seniority). This puts a max on 15 days for reserve pilots.
-Training and Vacation pay to equal a standard Day
-Improved PBS/Trip Trade system where allows pilots SWA style flexibility

And more. The point is these (ACD/LOS) are both huge gains outside of section 6, and we can focus on improving ACD/rigs to meet AA pilot needs versus just trying to get ACD.

Here’s what the company needs:
-Flexibility with scheduling
-training bubble protections (night transition/CQT sims, longer seat locks, etc)

Most carriers have all night sims, most carriers have RAs, lets get what we can from it (ie industry leading QWL gains). That’s negotiating.

You mean you listen to all sides and don’t have your decision already made.

We could use a few people like this not only in the APA, but Congress as well

Also note his list is mostly QOL improvements, money at our rates except on the lower FO wages isn't worth but 50 cents on the dollar, but an extra couple days off a month is priceless. Think about this, an extra three (3) days off a month is adding an additional MONTH of extra time off PER YEAR.

More money into retirement is also a no brainer, it's untaxed and goes straight into your account, and means you don't need to save as much which is an effective pay raise as well.

Times are really good, the question I don't want to know the answer to is, is this the best they will ever be? It honestly seems like the late 90's again.

I do worry about the discount carriers and more importantly the international discount carriers like WOW and Norwegian. They offer a great product for an absolutely killer price, yet our management is hell bent on continually raising our costs wasting gobs of money on uniforms, new equipment vs refurbishing old stuff, and buying back stock vs reducing debt/paying cash for aircraft to lower costs.

Yeah, but the pay rates, though!

You’re correct. The list is a combo of QWL improvements, as 'we' (some of my AA brothers) think that’s where we need to concentrate. Parker has said over and over that we will be the highest in compensation, and in the last crew news even included that DAL style profit sharing was a part of that. I can easily see us getting DAL/UAL +10% in addition to 10% PS to 'match' DAL profit sharing. I would also add 20% DC in there as well, although I think we will only get 18%.

There are other ideas, none of them mine, that are good as well. I’m going to be here for at least 15-20 more years, so I’d like it to be a good place to work.

Also, NAME USER is correct in that 3 extra days home a month is huge. We have to break out of the mentality that there is only so much of a very small pie the company will let us have... Nope. They are printing money, and I for one am glad. The bill is due.

Let's include the attitude "we didn't invent/have it, so you can't have it (anymore)"

That’s the best way to sum up this union.

This, and the fact that one hell of a lot of them wind up in mgmt after they screw us.

I’m ready to just decertify.

Only if none of the current _______ (<- fill your favorite word in HERE!) will ever be allowed in a union representing American Airlines pilots!

Fix APA! Introduce term limits and a 5 year union to management fence!
