Acceptance and Inclusion
Given this company's focused attention on acceptance and inclusion, has anyone seen a single company or union email, webpage banner or any mention of Father's day? For the past few months, I have been bombarded with the above mentioned communications promoting small groups based on sexual orientation, genetic coding or biological equipment, I thought for sure that they would have mentioned a holiday that applies to one of the largest demographic populations at the company. I guess not. I would be inclined to believe such efforts were really about acceptance and inclusion and less about special interest promotion if they actually practiced what they preached.
( For the record, I am all about acceptance and inclusion and believe that it was/is long overdue in our society. I support the stated goals of the effort but believe that under the vale of acceptance and inclusion we are really seeing is special interest promotion. We can't achieve true equality by applying initiatives inequitably. )

I am guessing that since that is the only point of contention that you come up with, that you are in agreement with the rest of my statement. Thank you for your support of applying acceptance and inclusion equally to all people and not just special sects.

Seriously though, why is it that Father's Day is forgotten/disregarded these days? Why is it that traditional male figures and father roles are ridiculed in media, entertainment, advertising, etc.
Next time you watch a sitcom, commercial, see a billboard, notice who the butt of the jokes are. Heaven forbid such ridicule and disregard were applied to mothers, or worse, members of these select groups that are being recognized and celebrated.
Perhaps the reason such little value is placed on fatherhood is why we find ourselves where we are.
