EFB Case
Anybody have a good ipad case that may fit in the ac cradle? Also, is there any news of a power port being added to the cockpit of the A32x fleet for charging? Seems a bit behind the times...

Your iPad with its case will NOT fit in the LAA Airbus 219/321. It's annoying. The cradle itself is not bad, rotates nicely etc.

Buy a 10' Native Union lightning cable for your iPad (available at some apple stores) 5' works for an FO as well. I've seen regular extension cords used, but they're too bulky for my taste.
While we are on the subject of AB differences, a quick thread hijack. I flew my first LAA AB the other day and couldn't figure out how to send for the atis so that it automatically prints without me having to display it on the ACARs and physically push "print". On the LUS AB's you do this (for arrival atis's) by dropping the "K". So you type in BOS not KBOS. Havent figured out how to do this on LAA planes.
Second, I had to go through and click on every message that was auto printed (PDC, load close out, etc) to clear the "company message" ecam display. Is there a way to clear that without having to cycle through each message? On LUS AB, you only get this for non-auto printed messages that haven't been looked at.
Not starting a debate about which planes are better, just want to learn the system. The "T" model is a freaking awesome product in the back of the jet, would be a hell of a way to fly trans Con as a PAX.

If you get the name brand Apple magnetic flip cover without the back, it will fit in the iPad holder with the case flipped open. It does not protect the metal portion of the tablet when closed. Mine does have scratches and scuffing on the corners as a result.
It's not my iPad though, and I think we'll be swapping them out in about a year.

I am Very Happy we have iPads, and not some horrible cheap AAss tablet. That being said, I was going to get a nice case for my company iPad, and then I saw the FedEx and SWA cases and I said newp.
If they wanted me to have a nice case as opposed to a $5 generic foam case the company scrounged for, then I’d have been issued one.
I’m not spending any money on company owned equipment. Not judging if you get a nice case, but I have watched many a Capt take a long time getting their iPads in and out of their cases to put it in the window holder, invariably stretching out their $50-75 cases. YMMV
Also, I hope everyone read the new TOS with iOS11 on their iPads concerning “enterprise device supervision” and what they (companies) can, and can’t do. IOS11 gave the company (well, all enterprise iOS devices) tons of new features. Quite eye-opening. I no longer keep anything on the iPad that I wouldn’t want the AA IT (yeah, that’s supposedly a real thing) department to have access to including texts and pictures. Just because you have your Apple ID on there doesn’t mean you control it anymore. Previous iOS the company had to physically have the device to see what you were doing - now it’s all able to be remotely supervised. Does AA do this? I doubt it but...
BTW - When are we getting new iPads? Mine is getting sloooooowwwwwww.

Having been on the AA airbus jumpseat a couple times, I didn't ask the crews, but I'm curious, why do you guys not have some sort of case for your ipads? And I was also surprised to see that it just sits loose in a tray. I'm assuming that it had to be approved and blessed by the feds, but I would have guessed that bad turbulence/hard landings could bounce the ipad out of the tray?
The otterbox defender cases we are given for ours make the ipad feel indestructible, but man, if it doesn't also make them heavy and bulky.
