I Ike the whole “net zero” argument about having left the airport on day 1 and back on day 5 at the same spot and nothing changed. True... except you’re a couple thousand dollar richer! Any job you do you are gonna park your car, do the grind, and return to the same car to go home. Net zero in almost every case. I suppose he is trying to find something more fulfilling and maybe a job where he feels like he is making a more personal difference, but not many jobs in the UK can you makeup the earning potential of a BA Captain.

Not many 50-65 yr old airline pilots sitting in front of their laptop/iPhone on a stick making YouTube videos. Unless you’re Capt Scott, he gets a pass.

Wow, walk away from that at his age? Good luck!

I was just talking to my wife about this. The earning potential we have is good but our jobs are unfulfilling. I enjoy mine to an extent but the thought of line flying till retirement is just demoralizing. Her corporate job pays well but is meaningless in what it accomplishes for others, and herself spiritually.
Sadly my burnout exists even after just coming off 30 days of not flying on vacation.
I can completely identify with that guy.
