Good info. In any event, fixing the payscales would most definitely fix their manning issues and drive the jet senior as it is definitely the hidden gem for a lot of people local to PHL. They are about to force upgrade 6 more FO's as of this last vacancy announcement. Apparently they have been saying this airplane is "going away" for almost a decade now. Lots of rumors floating around, but I did hear that they are replacing engines on the ones that need it; six of them I believe. If they are going to spend millions of dollars on new engines, they obviously aren't going to get rid of them anytime soon. FWIW, I also heard Embraer has been to Dallas more than twice showing off their E2 to management. |

If they wanted a large fleet of 190's they would've bought them in 2013 with the signing of the JCBA IMO.
As it is every other carrier except Delta is getting rid of their smaller aircraft and upgauging. If you can buy a used 319 for 1/3 the cost of a 190, it seats more and slots into your current training program, why wouldn't you? US/AW now has 320's that are almost two decades old, the company has a good hand on how to maintain them. Supposedly a bunch of 319's are coming off lease and available. I really don't mind, I'd much rather have a 319 than a 190 from a job standpoint. |

I would hope APA is calling the company's bluff on the E190 and negotiating a new payscale for it also. Whether it goes away 6 months after the contract is signed or we buy new E2's, we shouldn't be the only mainline operation with near regional payscale on a 99 seat aircraft. And don't forget that any negotiation on E2 would likely be with Boeing, not Embraer...Boeing may have incentive to give some good deals in light of 'recent' events...
