I love the idea of Vasu running things. He's such an innovator. Kind of gives me that David Neelman vibe. It'd be nice to shake off the crusty suits that this place is accustomed to and live up our real potential.

He talked a big game last summer about trying to do things differently than before with regard to staffing, ostensibly to be in a position to take advantage of down line opportunities, and he sounded sincere. Yea, no. So while every other Legacy actually DIDN'T furlough, American DID furlough, just like they do every time. Hey, shrink to profitability, right?

He proved to me he's just like every other executive level suit at AA when it comes down to it.

It will be Douglas M. Steenland. They elected him to the BoD back in October

They brought him in for other reasons, not to be CEO. At least that is what my crystal ball says. My crystal ball is pretty darn accurate.

BK/Merger?

We have the same crystal ball. Not saying either will happen with certainty, but you would want to be prepared. If either comes to pass, there is not a lot of time to go out in the market to find someone with expertise in the area.
