In general, no, You need to understand that the American operation is understaffed with pilots compared to the competition. Between that fact and the contract, the quality of life is worse relative to Delta and United (and honestly, compared to Spirit too).

Schedule? You want to know what our schedules are like? Imagine having a portly fellow come up behind you, pull your underwear up and over your head..all the while a midget is using your nutz for boxing practice.
That's your AA schedule in a nut shell.. especially for the first year if you're a commuter.

If this has already been addressed recently, my apologies.
1) if you know the process and rules, is it relatively easy to drop down to 18-20 days off a month once you're a line holder?
2) if you can't drop or trade out of a trip, do you have the option of posting it for trade, maybe offering in extra cash to another pilot to sweeten the deal?
3) are there pilots who drop most of their awarded schedule to pickup premium open time later in the month?
4) do pilots intentionally bid reserve to stay home all month if they live in domicile?
Thanks
