And this makes the point. Mainline pilots COULD operate supposed “regional” sized aircraft. But they never will cause they need cost structure (in their minds) to be offset to a regional airline.

Regional size planes are never coming back to mainline. Ever. And please don’t say the 190 or the 220 are regional size planes. They are not! If you want to think that way then you are thinking like middle management. And I promise you, middle management would love for a regional to be flying a 220 or 190 in place of mainline
