Default A320 or B737?

I'm a new hire coming from the military flying the KC-135. I wanted to know the pros and cons of 320 vs 737. Seniority, upgrade time, QOL, bases for each aircraft, etc? Also, I do love flying the -135 which is Boeing so I'm hesitant to make the switch to airbus without getting more info. My wife and I would like to live in Charlotte eventually and I know AA only has airbus based there, but I've heard a rumor that the 737 might be based there eventually as well. Looking for some info and advice. Thanks.

Charlotte is very senior and will be for a long time. I wouldn’t hold my breath on 737s. But if the mechanics vote in the TA, much more likely.

737 has the 320 beat in terms of seniority and upgrade time which equals better QOL. Yes, there is a lot of speculation that the 737 will eventually be in CLT, but it's just speculation as of right now. If you want CLT, the safe bet is 320. The most junior guy awarded 320 CLT is a mid 2019 hire. If you're a gambling man, you could bid the 737 with hopes of it coming to CLT eventually and enjoy the increased seniority in the meantime. And IF the 737 does go to CLT, it will most definitely be much more junior than the 320. If you bid the 737 and it isn't looking like a 737 base is opening there, you could always bid 320 CLT later on.

If your plans are to be in CLT, do not pass go and collect $200. Just go to the Airbus and *if* the 737 comes into CLT bid into it if it means not commuting or a much higher seniority level (highly likely).
