Ya think? I posted about it a few days ago running the math. There is pretty much zero chance of any airline coming out the other side unless they park almost everything and furlough almost everyone, even with loans, unless something changes.
You can't run sub 10% load factors on $30 fares. The last carrier standing may be able to make it work (SWA/Spirit?).
Maybe we can negotiate say 10 hours of pay a month for staying current.

Are you kidding? 10 hours a month? Unbelievable. Time to put on your big boy pants and grow a pair. The generations before you went through countless bankruptcies and airlines going out of business. Dark days without an end in sight. None of those pilot groups ever agreed to work for free in order to keep their jobs. Our benefits and pay today are a direct result of them having a backbone when times got tough.

And the generations ahead of us ( whatever you wanna call who's 18-21 years old now) are able to go public stating that they don't care or worry about the virus. His concern is to spend spring break and have fun. I am really starting to feel old and be astounded of everything that's going on.

I'd rather get a little something for doing a sim every 90 days and to keep up on my distance learning so the company has the flexibility to go from zero to xx,xxx hours a month extremely quickly. Nobody is even inferring you'd work an entire month "for free".
Another plus is you'd still be classified as an active employee, so in the event of a merger when lists are merged you'd still have a seat at the table.
