It is incredibly naive to believe that any scope concessions would be temporary. Scope relief is an inherent career killer.

Use your 35 plus years of experience to truly make a difference. You have an opportunity to help make it better. Haven’t walked in your shoes and can only imagine the career you expected to have compared to what it has become.Trust me, a lot of younger folk, including myself, are now in that position.
My initial training was with a 60 year old US Airways guy. Screwed over so many times but best sim partner I could ask for. Saw him 3 months later in the terminal and wouldn’t let me go until he bought his FO and me breakfast. He had my attention from day one and learned a lot.

Nicely said. I’m not on anyone’s “no fly” list as far as I’ve been told. The position you are in is unfortunate but does come with the territory. The problem you come across now is the leader you have at the union will slit your throat to keep his job. I’ll just keep it at that and move on. I was brought up like the guy you flew with, but we’re not the problem....Eric is.
