Default New York to quarantine travelers.....

Governors of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut have ordered a14 day quarantine for any travelers from “hot spot” states, including Texas (DFW), Florida (MIA), Arizona, (PHL), and North Carolina (CLT).

So does that apply only to passengers? Does it also apply only to crew members who live in Texas, North Carolina, Arizona, Florida, or the other 5 “hot spot” states? Does it apply to crew members who have recently BEEN IN ANY one of those 9 states? Does it only apply to flights directly FROM one of those 9 states? Does it only apply to crew members who OVERNIGHT in NY, NJ, or CT? How about crew members who swap aircraft and have to enter the terminal?

Discuss.

Texas resident, JFK based at Jetblue. Management continues to inform us that we are exempt from any and all travel based quarantines. Because crewmembers are distinctly biologically different from the rest of the human population. I made the last part up...

Should be interesting enforcing this. Flight arriving from xyz, taxi to the remote, await further instructions.

Exact same as in March and April with NY. All of us have already done this.

How about pax who originate in a “safe state” but connect in a hot spot enroute to NY? Corporate/bizjet? GA? People who drive across state lines (no way Amazon is going to allow this)? This seems pretty unenforceable....

its a self quarantine that is essentially self enforced also. Cops wont be camped outside your door to see if you go out. These types of things have already been done before, ironically it was the people of NY who had to do it if they travelled anywhere...

The EU might publish a list of foreign nationals allowed in after July 1st. Fun times ahead!

Kind of wondering when there will be a legal challenge to this. Fines are a form of regulatory action, and the power to regulate interstate commerce is reserved to the Congress. States are not permitted to treat commerce from any one (or more) states differently.... Time will tell

Texas did this for travelers from Louisiana when it became a hotspot. Hawaii is still doing the self isolate and being pretty strict about it too.
