$30 AA one way fares to some cities
Just saw with my own eyes some one way fares of $30 via some perusing on the mobile app.
Hopefully this is the minority, not the majority, of the fares the folks being counted on TSA travel numbers are paying |
These fares existed before Covid. Especially to Atlanta and any route we compete with Spirit

I would argue that $30 is better than an empty seat.

$16 for some routes.
Don't get excited when you see full planes. It's easy to fill up a plane with pax. It's harder to make money from them. |

I am not sure how widespread these prices are, but it’s nothing new. These prices have been available since Group 9 boarding started. I remember doing a BOI-PHX flight a couple of years ago. Almost all our passengers were group 9. I looked a last minute group 9 fare as we were boarding and it was $30.00. As others have said, this is a direct result of competition with ULCC (Spirit, etc) and ultra competitor markets. I’ve seen $50.00 from ORD to MCO long before COVID.
