Not doubting article. but a 45 uncommanded roll seems unlikely unless there was failure to address / react to crosswind or odd flight control inputs?

I've known guys complain that the bus can run out of roll authority in low speed/low altitude wake encounters, ie stick opposite hard over and still rolling.

I know the guy, have flown with him many times, and spoke with him at length about this when I randomly encountered him during a layover at OGG. He was back on the line by then and ultimately NOT blamed for this. I can tell you that he’s an excellent pilot. If it could happen to him, it can happen to me and to all of you.

The people who actually have all the data cleared him, so anybody who mentions poor technique without being privy to the actual data simply has zero credibility.

Hot Dog....

any details? I was hoping we’d find out what happened.

Apparently, it’s some big company secret because no one at AA will even acknowledge it happened, let alone dissect what happened.

The conversation happened many months ago, so I can’t remember the details. Even if I did, I’m not sure I’d want to spill it on a forum without talking to him again first.
