International jump seat OAL
Hi guys can anyone please advise if international jump seating is currently possible for a non owned carrier employee? If so is it troublesome trying to get back from the other side, EU or UK?

Be careful if trying to jumpseat on an International American Airlines flight if it is a dedicated freighter. I believe most all of those are using a AAL 9XXX flight number. Our Ops Specs do not allow us to even carry an AA pilot in the jumpseat or as a passenger. (I tried it and was turned down after completing 1 leg of an International Line Check and wanting to DH right back with the jet). Only working crew permitted. Otherwise, if it is a passenger flight, you can ride as a jumpseat in the Main Cabin just like normal. Why we have this restriction on cargo flights is stupid to say the least.
PS I'm a NY based AA Captain on the 777.

Funkster beat me to it, but I just looked it up - Frontier does have international jumpseat privileges with us (in the cabin of course).
Dunno how other airlines handle it, but it’s important to check this on an airline by airline basis with us - we don’t automatically extend intl privileges even if the offline pilot has it on the domestic side. I didn’t realize this until last year when we had the unfortunate situation of leaving an Allegiant pilot behind on a flight to Mexico. Fortunately he had a SWA backup that got him there, but we felt terrible about it.
