Age 67, 68, it doesn't matter. Guys/gals should retire/med out at 65 for solidarity to show the company/the industry that the can can't be kicked any longer. Small anecdote; the last 4 CAs I flew with were all within 3 yrs of retiring and they all said even if it goes to 67, they're done at 65.

Yeah but how will they feel when they find out that no other ICAO airspace will allow them to act as PIC and they’ll have to spend the next 3 years as a narrow body CA and taxi a guppy in under the water cannons instead of a 777?

I didn't even mention the NB CAs. Their numbers are even significantly larger than the WB CAs and most aren't going anywhere if allowed to stay at age 65. My point is thinking that raising the age another 2 or 3 years won't have much impact on sonority progression is being foolhardy at best.

Get in quickly so you can ride the bottom of the list for the next 3 years. It will suck, but it will suck even more being at a regional for 3 more years with no hiring at the legacies.

Well crap. Hope it takes a little while to pass that legislation...

That would be so typical to simply stop hiring for three years. Zero insight…. Or GAF’s.

Few retirements all of a sudden, no need for new pilots, no need for a new contract, pilots can GFT as far as management is concerned. Until there's a huge rush of retirements in a couple years and shortage once again. Then them looking to gain pilots any way they can, other than paying them more. Sounds familiar...
