They, and others that use these are looking for consistence, which means honesty.
If you try to be too smart by half, you will get tripped up.
My dad was in HR (non airline company) and administered and manually scored them. I would offer for him to talk to you, but it is a long distance call. He was born over 100 years ago.

"I am a strong team player"
"I am a strong leader"
"I would step on other people's toes to benefit my own career"
"I obey my supervisor's instructions"
Answer them "correctly" (and by correctly I mean, trying to make yourself look good) and you are not honest. Those questions can be 20-30 questions apart so often you don't remember what you answered. Avoid absolutes, and avoid the middle. And be honest. That is usually a good technique to the personality tests.

I wouldn't worry about "consistency". That's trying too hard, might accidentally game it. Just answer truthfully.
These things spit out a personality profile which falls on a spectrum, literally. There are pros and cons to each personality trait and you don't know what the company is looking for. So just be yourself. You can be 51%/49% on a trait, you don't have to be 100% all in on one trait. Depending on the wording, you may favor different ends of the spectrum on different questions. That's normal.
For example "Consistent vs Flexible." Traits: supports using established procedures but is resistant to change, versus, adaptable and tries new things but is inconsistent and easily bored. Both are good, both are bad.

Exactly. Plenty of WO guys at PSA/Envoy/Piedmont with current apps willing and wanting to come over now. However if AA is more inclined to keep us at the WO to keep them staffed and instead hire Mil guys with 10 hours 121 or ZERO than sorry but a lot of us will be pursing Delta/United/ ect. Better to get in now at a place that wants us than to wait another 3, 4, 5, 6 years for “flow”.

Did you ever figure out what this email was about? I also just got an email from AA Talent Acquisition saying I've had a profile automatically created in the "recruiting candidate database." I'm curious if this is something everyone gets, or if it's the beginning of the next steps in the process. (note: I spoke with AA recruiters two days ago at the RTAG Convention)

Log in to AAPilotCredentials. I believe that email is the sign that you've reached the next stage of getting the job. Others have reported that they have more tabs now visible in their application after receiving that email. Tabs such as "Schedule an Interview" (in person) and Work Traits Assessment (personality test).

Go check your pilot credentials app. Same day I got the email there were some new tabs on there for the work traits test, scheduling an interview, etc.

Can anyone in the “know” shed some light on the rumor mill that AA will not be inviting anyone from the Wholly-owns (Envoy, PSA, Piedmont) for interviews anymore?
Lots of talk, (grain of salt I know) at the WOs that AA wants to keep them staffed so the only path to AA is through flow now and getting hired outside of that will be dang near impossible if you are a WO pilot.

I received the “database” email yesterday and went into pilot credentials and scheduled an interview date, and took the skills/psych eval. Does anyone know if they’re still doing the video interview? Some of the dates were less than 5 days out so I can’t imagine there would be time to even do the video interview had I selected those dates. Maybe they got rid of it?
